Privacy policy

Signing in

When you sign in with Google, Google shares an account identifier, your email address, and basic profile information, which can include your name and profile picture. VeraVino uses that information to identify your account and open your private journal. If you sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple account identifier and the email address Apple provides, including a relay address if you choose Hide My Email. You can also register with an email address and password.

Your journal

When you save a tasting to your account, VeraVino stores the bottle details, date, scores, and wine preferences you enter. Guest tastings stay on the device or browser where you saved them. On iPhone, text recognition runs on your device when you choose a label photo. On the web, a label photo you attach to a signed-in bottle submission is uploaded to private storage.

How the services use and protect your information

VeraVino uses Supabase to verify sign-ins, maintain sessions, and store account and journal data. Access rules tie private records and uploaded label photos to their owner. The iPhone app stores its sign-in session in the iOS Keychain. VeraVino sends email confirmations and sign-in messages through its Gmail mailbox. When you contact support, your message and reply address reach that mailbox.

VeraVino uses Google account data for sign-in and account identification. It does not sell that data or use it for advertising.

Keeping and deleting your data

Account information and saved journal entries are kept while you maintain your account. In the iPhone app, open Account and choose Delete account to permanently remove your account, private journal records, preferences, and uploaded label photos from active storage. You can also contact us to request deletion. Disconnecting VeraVino in Google or Apple account settings revokes that provider’s access. You can delete your VeraVino account separately.
